We are excited to announce Ms. Patricia Hauschild as our elementary teacher and we are beyond blessed to have her in our MCA family. She joined our staff at Montessori Christian Academy in October 2018. She is a native of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette, and Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Elementary Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College, New Orleans.
Ms. Hauschild returns home after residing in southwest Colorado for 30 years. During that time she earned her MA in Elementary Education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado and her Elementary I Montessori Credential from AMS affiliated Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, Boulder, Colorado.
Patricia has state teaching licenses in Colorado, New Mexico and Louisiana. She has close to 30 years of education experiences having taught Montessori Primary, Lower Elementary (1st – 3rd grades) and Upper Elementary (4-6th grades), as well as Kindergarten, First and Third Grades in the public schools in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Aztec, New Mexico.
Her 15 years of Montessori experience has been with a private school, the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy (SUIMA) on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in Ignacio, Colorado.
There in addition to being a teacher, she had the opportunity to also serve as SUIMA’s Principal. A position she resigned from to return home.
Ms. Hauschild’s passions include teaching, children, and animals! She considers herself a “lifelong learner” and is always searching for new ways to make education exciting and enriching for children. She has taken numerous classes and trainings in reading, phonics and language, differentiated instruction, and outdoor education for children, as well as presented at National Montessori Conferences.
Ms. Hauschild expresses this: “I know in my heart that there was some Divine Intervention going on that brought me to Montessori Christian Academy! The Creator has a purpose for this school, its staff, students and families. I am honored to be a part of His Plan.”
